We are excited to bring you the 2027 OURS Studio Research Journal! OURS marks a milestone of 10 years anniversary. Because of that, the journal this year is named The Reunion with a visual theme inspired by the designer’s years long hobby of jam-making. Pre-order starts on September 15, with an estimated shipping time around late-October or early-November.
About the theme
Jam-making is a process. You catch fruit at its best, cook it down, keep it in a jar and let time does the rest. A year of notes in your journal does the same work. The tart parts turn sweet on the way in. That's the thinking behind this year's cover: a table of painted fruit—rose lychee, cherries, apples, lemon and a jar of the jam.
About the paper
This year, the journal is printed on all-new MORIKAZE paper. OURS has published paper test results, and they're solid—especially for fountain pen users.
Most commonly used ink pads work beautifully. Ink resistance improved 30–40% compared to 2026 paper. You'll notice smoother writing and the same soft, slightly fluffy feel OURS planners are known for.
The caveat: very saturated ink pads may show slight show-through, and some fountain pens with heavier ink flow might bleed. Test your favorites on the dedicated paper test page before committing them to the full book.
Bottom line: MORIKAZE is the real upgrade for pen users.
Monthly Plan
Each month is displayed on a 2-page spread, thirteen spreads in total. Minimalist grid with room around the edges for notes that do not belong to a particular day.
Weekly Plan
Each week runs across a 2-page spread in an eight-block format, fifty-four weeks in all, decorated with spot illustrations from the fruit series.
Free Pages
38 free pages are added in a variety of formats, including free note with grids, color test pages for ink swatches, and a brand new ephemera log.
